Read was formed in March 1988 by Graham Read (now retired) and Richard Heaton. From humble beginnings with only 3 employees, Read have established themselves as a major force within the North Wales /North West construction industry with an unparalleled reputation to produce schemes of excellent quality.
Construction Director Wynne Davies who was appointed in 1997 is supported by an exceptionally experienced Senior Management team.
The company currently employs over 80 people between the Head Office in Brymbo (WREXHAM) and numerous sites. The past 20 years have seen a progressive and controlled growth in turnover and the anticipated turnover this current financial year will be in the region of £20 million.
Who we work with
Our core Clients are in the public sector such as Flintshire and Shropshire County Councils, Wrexham Borough Councils and various NHS Trusts. Read have excelled in the education and healthcare sectors which is evidenced in our repeated experience in collaborative working in over 300 schools and various hospitals. We have also developed a large portfolio of private Clients with whom we have enjoyed a close working relationship over the past 20 years. The vast majority of these projects are bespoke in nature and an ability to work closely together with our Client and design team is essential in producing a quality building that is fit for use and within the given budget.
We are vastly experienced in many types of contract, from Traditional and Design & Build through to Framework Agreements and Partnering. Our supply chain and material suppliers are carefully selected to ensure that they are able to provide the best quality service that Read and our Clients expect. The collaborative ethos is totally geared towards best value for all Clients.
