Golf driving ranges, tennis provision both external and indoor , football grass and all weather pitches, all weather surface area, multi use sports buildings, club houses, sports stadium are all delivered by our people and supply chain to effectively address Client needs. Projects are delivered on a Design and Build, Traditional Contract, partnering and other collaborative methods of working.

Working within a live facility, maintaining the Clubs ongoing operations was a key driver in the delivery of this project. A delighted Client, and end users now enjoy the benefits of this exceptional facility. Construction Director Wynne Davies , quoted” what a privilege to hand over this facility , many communities will be envious of the facilities Neston Cricket Club now offers, an example to be followed”

North Wales Tennis Centre, Wrexham, Circa £480,000
Wrexham Tennis Centre is the premier Centre of excellence of tennis in the North West. To be awarded the Contract to provide a significant extension to the indoor facility and new external all weather courts allowed ourselves to further demonstrate our ability as a multi disciplined Contractor. As delighted Architect Nick Batement, stated:
"Just a quick line to thank you and your team for the early completion of the extension to the centre.
An early completion has enabled the centre to book the additional courts out and get revenue from them earlier than expected which they are extremely happy about.

Royal Liverpool Golf Club, Circa £1.66m
The works carried out at Royal Liverpool Golf Club were completed well in advance of the British Open championship, which was hosted there soon after our completion. Everything from the timber panelling in the Library to the power showers in the locker rooms was completed to an exacting standard.
In addition to the New Golfers Reception, Professional Shop, Toilets and Library, which was so sympathetically designed that it cannot be identified as an extension to the untrained eye! The entire club was refurbished. The mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems being largely renewed with all areas being remodelled and entirely re-decorated. Significant challenges arose during the course of the works, which were overcome by the sympathetic and flexible approach of the entire construction team and the extremely close and cooperative liaison with the club staff and members.

Heswall Golf Club, Circa £1.29m
A significant traditionally built extension and total refurbishment and refenestration of the existing facilities. Works were carried out to the existing male and female locker rooms, spike and lounge bars, the function room and toilets in addition to the new build main entrance lobby and stairs, staff offices, beer cellar and trolley store.
Disruption to the staff and club members was kept to a minimum thanks to carefully considered phasing and excellent project management.

- The extensions and remodelling works led to the club successfully hosting the junior British open golf championship in 2007.

Belvidere, Circa £850,000
Client: Shropshire County Council
Period: 32 weeks
A design and build contract for the construction of new sports hall including changing, staff, storage and toilet facilities. Compilation of the Contractors Proposals to the clients satisfaction in line with the criteria established within the Employers Requirements for the provision of an economical, modern building aesthetically complimenting its surroundings whilst delivering best value upon delivery and through its entire life cycle. Over and above the requirements of the contract, the Site team was able to offer support to the school curriculum via pupil visits / workshops on site.

Cheshire County Sports Club, Circa £895,000
Client: Cheshire County Sports Club
Period: 32 weeks
A design and build contract for the construction of a detached 2 storey clubhouse to include changing facilities, officials rooms, 1st aid and staff areas, meeting rooms, function rooms and kitchens. The 1st floor included a full perimeter viewing balcony with windows to all elevations for spectator viewing of pitches and courts below. Included within the contract was alteration and improvement works to the existing pavilion and adaptations to surrounding hard landscaped areas. The contract works were phased around pre arranged sporting events, with the site remaining live throughout!

Llanfwrog Tennis Centre, Circa £510,000
Client: Llanfwrog Community Centre
Period: 36 weeks
A partnering contract to deliver a new two storey tennis centre with four new external floodlit courts with associated external landscaping. The ground floor provides changing and toilet facilities, kitchen and meeting rooms whilst the 1st floor houses a large gallery area with viewing balcony overlooking the tennis courts. The innovative and unusual external design was reflected in the internal design and specifications, leading to a challenging construction process, which was well met by the Site Team who championed the recently integrated Request For Information system.

McAllester Pavillion, Birkenhead School, Circa £410,000
Client: Birkenhead School
Period: 26 weeks
A negotiated contract for the alteration and refurbishment of an existing sports pavilion and construction of a new extension to provide additional changing function areas. Handover of the project was on a phased basis with the refurbishment of existing areas required in time for the autumn term, to maintain functionality and minimise disruption to the school. This deadline was met, as was that for completion of the new extension. Testament to the successful delivery of the project, Read negotiated with the school for a scheme of extension and refurbishments to technology and science rooms.
Ruthin Sports Hall, Circa £1M
Client: Ruthin School
Period: 40 weeks
Completion of a new sports hall within an existing school campus following the liquidation of the original contractor employed to undertake the works. The provision included a main sport hall with specialist cushioned sport floor surface, storage areas, changing and toilet areas with associated staff and circulation areas. Read took over the contract at completion of the steel frame, and managed the handover from the previous contractor with minimal disruption to programme and delivery of value for money to the client.
