RAF Fairbourne, Circa £1.2M

RAF Fairbourne is a training centre used by the RAF for outdoor activities. The contract awarded was to construct a 2 storey offices/function room/storage and drying room. Contract start date was November 2004 with completion on time in April 2005 at a cost £1.2m The Building was officially opened in May 2005 by a highly ranked RAF Officer. This was a stand alone timber frame building with an external skin of rendered block work, and natural welsh slate roof the footprint of building 300m2.

Driven concrete piles were used to overcome bad ground conditions and the high water table due to the building being only 1000 yards from the sea. Modern methods of construction were used throughout the contract.

Specialist Defence Organisation, Circa £1.8m

Location: North West

Period: 22 weeks

The conversion and fit out of two new build, single storey industrial units to provide 1000m2 of specialist equipment repair, testing and office accommodation arranged over two storeys.

A key element of the project was the design, coordination and integration of bespoke specialist electrical systems in a clean air HEPA filtered environment which was an essential operational driver for this International Defence Organisation.

The project was completed on a negotiated basis through an agreed maximum price basis with delivery two weeks ahead of the Fast track requirement of 22 weeks.
