Read Construction Holdings Ltd' prevailing commitment to excellence resulted in the company being shortlisted for the CITB Outstanding Employer (SME) in the 'Pride of Construction' Awards.
The Pride of Construction Awards recognises and celebrates key contributions made by individuals, companies and training partners to the industry. Read was among three SMEs shortlisted for the award. The company was shortlisted based on its best practice ethos which involves continuous training and development, mentorship of trainees and its ongoing creation of opportunities for young people as work experience, tasters and placements.
When asked about what being shortlisted meant to Read, Business Improvement Manager of the company, Alex Read, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the CITB National Awards Outstanding Employer (SME). This recognises our continuing commitment to development of graduates and trainees, in addition to retention and continual professional development of existing staff.”
The CITB Awards ceremony was held on September 10, 2014, and though Read did not clinch the award, they are still basking in the fact that their excellence earned them a place in the top three Outstanding Employer (SME).
