This live scheme will see the refurbishment and remodelling of Grade II listed buildings to form a new school and boarding house for children with special education needs.
Read are currently engaged on this live prestigious scheme to transform unoccupied Grade II listed buildings to form a new school and boarding house for children with special education needs. Based in the heart of Chester, the buildings originate from the 1700’s.
Operating within an extremely constrained site, never has logistical planning been so important, with “just in time” material scheduling necessary to progress the works without obstructing the highway. The delivery team ensure close supervision of all supply chain members to ensure the strict access & egress rules are adhered to. Effective communication with the project’s neighbours, architect and client ensures the logistical challenges are well managed.
During the scheme, Read were approached by Chester Cathedral to manage the health and safety and logistical operations for the arrival of the British Ironwork Centre’s ‘Knife Angel’ sculpture. Delivered within the busy city centre during peak Christmas shopping times, Read successfully managed the delivery and erection of the statue onto a custom made plinth.
