This phased sesign and build project included a new teaching block as well as refurbishment and remodelling of the existing facilities. The new timber clad classroom block incorporates parallel teaching spaces linked by circulation space for additional group activity.
CONSIDERATE - In addition to the extension, alteration and refurbishment was undertaken in the existing school areas. With the school occupied throughout, the need for planning and on-time completion of work phases was paramount to the resultant on programme completion of the project. Our considerate working practices were recognised by the school, who commended our approach.
SUSTAINABLE - The rural location of this project presented challenges for access to supply chain availability, which were alleviated by targeting local products and suppliers and allocating smaller work packages to maximise engagement opportunities for smaller local organisations.
The project ran seamlessly. Where there were slight delays, it was made clear where time would be made back. Whenever I had a question, they were quick to come back with an answer or solution. Communication was excellent. Value engineering was made easy with the break down in costs. They supported through the whole process. Overall build and the finish has been to a very high standard.
