Working with the Horatio Garden national charity, this scheme involved the repurposing of a disused are of the hospital campus to form a new garden space at the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries at the Robert Jones and Agnus Hunt hospital, Owestry.
The fourth of its kind to open in the UK, Horatio's Garden Oswestry was delivered in collaboration with the Horatio's Garden charity, the NHS and Butler Landscapes.
A spacious garden room compliemnts the landscaped grounds, fitted with its own kitchen, cinema screen and heating to facilitate all year round enjoyment of the gardens.
CONSISTENT QUALITY - Finish quality was maintained by effective use of the 'next customer' principle, ensuring work operations were 100% complete before moving to the next area to allow efficient start of the following trade. This technique is used across all Read projects to deliver a high quality product.
I found the overall attitude and responsiveness of the Read team whilst on site to be excellent. Communications through the monthly site meetings was good and was also effective in the interim periods. The level of engagement between contracted staff and Spinal Injury Unit staff and patients was excellent. The overall finish to the project was of an exceptionally high standard....
