Construction of a new single storey science block in which the team delivered superior quality through established supply chain networks and collaboration with staff and students from the academy.
ENGAGING - From initial concept sketches, the students and staff were encouraged throughout the design and construct process to contribute their thoughts and ideas in designing an inspirational teaching environment. The student council took a pivotal role in influencing the final specification, and were consulted throughout the process as a key stakeholder group.
BEST VALUE - Read enhanced the service delivery by engaging key supply chain members and designers to rationalise the original design brief. The outcome of this process, resulted in effective value management and the incorporation of additional classroom refurbishments and overcome unforeseen structural issues within the overall budget without adverse impact on the design intent or quality.
QUALITY - Largely tradition in design, the single storey extension presented an opportunity for the construction team to deliver superior quality through established supply chain networks with a long historic track record of successful delivery. The comments and feedback from the client team, staff, pupils and visitors echo the exceptional finish quality.
We are delighted with our Science GCSE results which are significantly above national figures; however, this new facility will make such a difference to the way we deliver our Science curriculum enabling us to raise standards even higher whilst maintaining the same strong commitment to the highest academic outcomes....
